38' Yacht - 19-06-2011
The Haydn Miller was launched after the Coastguard received an urgent call from the Skipper of a 38' Yacht reporting that they were taking in water fast off Old Castle Head. The Lifeboat raced to the scene and went alongside to assess the Yacht. The Yacht was on passage from Tenby to Neyland when the shaft seal failed after the Yacht's propeller shaft was fouled on a rope. The six crew onboard managed to stem the flow of water and reseal the shaft. They also managed to pump out most of the sea water before the lifeboat arrived on scene.
