Time: 12:10:00
Wind: WNW 5.1 knots
Weather: Sunny
Sea Conditions: Smooth
Casualty Type: Interference on Channel 16
Casualty Position: Carmarthen Bay area
Rescue Details: ALB was tasked after a vessel with a stuck down transmission button on their radio effectively locked out Channel 16 for over an hour. This meant that any vessel in distress would have been unable to call the Coastguard for assistance. The affected area was the whole of Carmarthen Bay and part of the coastline towards Swansea. The Haydn Miller launched and immediately picked up the signal using the Direction Finder. The lifeboat headed towards the signal and found the vessel off Rhossili Bay. The occupants were given a talking to which included safety advice and how to check the radio for problems before being allowed to continue on their way. The Haydn Miller returned to Tenby.
